Walking Group

12 November

We will be walking the eleventh section of the Leeds Country Way from

Thornbury  Barracks to Rawdon.

The walk is 5 and a half miles long and will take about three and three quarter hours.

There is a long moderate slope towards the end of the walk, two stiles, two sets of steps and a set of stepping stones.

The path is rather rough in places and could be very slippery.

Boots or strong shoes are essential and if you have a stick, bring it.
Please meet in Leeds Bus Station in time to catch the X6 bus which leaves at 10:20 from stand 17.

The return bus goes to Leeds Bus Station.

Please bring a packed lunch and something to sit on

The walk starts by crossing the Bradford Road - there is a pedestrian underpass-please use it.

This walk will be led by Anne and David Rufus. Telephone 2934383

January 14

We will be walking the final section of the Leeds Country Way from Rawdon to Golden Acre Park.

The walk is about 6 miles long, will take about 4 hours and consists mainly of woodland and field walking with some rough stone roads.

There are some uphill stretches, 15 stiles, (mostly easy), and some stone steps.

It can be extremely muddy in places so strong waterproof boots are advised and if you have a stick, bring it.

Please bring a packed lunch and something to sit on, and we will have a drinks stop, weather permitting.

Hopefully, we can call in at the Golden Acre cafe and celebrate the conclusion of the LCW!

Please meet in Leeds Bus Station in time to catch the 33 bus which leaves at 10:35 from stand 19.

We will be returning to Leeds on the 84 bus.

This walk is being led by Margret Quinton Tel.2669980
